March 15 Update

Hello soccer parents, volunteers and participants,

As you may have heard or seen, REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

REGISTRATION CLOSES March 31, 2023.

WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING LATE REGISTRATIONS THIS YEAR. 

Registration fees remain at $75/athlete.

We are not able to accept e-transfer so please have a credit card ready - you can check out of PayPal as a guest and don't need an account set up.

As always, should registration fees be a barrier to you for registering your child/children, please reach out.

We are looking forward to the upcoming soccer season and seeing you all out on the field!

As you have likely already seen, there have been some changes this year that we would like to address.

 1) Move away from Co-Ed teams: We received feedback at the end of last season from parents and coaches that led to this decision. We want everyone to be as involved in the game as possible.  Should this decision be a barrier to your child joining us this season, please reach out and we’d be happy to discuss options that work for your child. 

2) Saturday games: We also received feedback that weeknights are busy for families and volunteers. We looked at soccer schedules in other communities and found that most of them follow a schedule similar to what we’ve come up with for this season. We hope it alleviates weeknight stress and allows for a fun start to the weekend! 

We recognize the oversight regarding the Golden Cycling Club using the field for their kids camp. As such soccer will be moved to Sunday on the weeks of May 1st & May 8th.  We will move these games to Sunday afternoon - 12:30pm start time.

We apologize for this confusion. 

U15/U18 - some of you have noticed there are no times/days listed for U15/U18. We don't have coaches confirmed at this time for this age group (please let me know if you are interested) which is why we haven't listed a time. We are hoping for Monday, 6:45-8:15pm to avoid overlap with the girls highschool practices as well as Summer Kicks in June.

If able, please consider coaching this season as this is crucial for the success of our season. We have VERY few people signed up to coach - as you know, we can not run our season without coaches.

As always, we appreciate constructive feedback. We will trial the changes this year and then review and adjust as needed. If you have suggestions on how to progress soccer in our community you are welcome to attend our AGM which happens every year in February.
